Reputedly Cattistock was the first village in Dorset to have an Open Garden weekend.  No doubt others will also claim the distinction but we in Cattistock are sticking to our guns!  This year it was on Saturday and Sunday 1 and 2 July.  With 31 gardens (including Fullers Earth’s) open it was one of the biggest (and best).  This weekend also coincided with St Peter’s and St Paul’s Church patronal day with a Flower Festival within the church.  It was a great opportunity not only to see the village at its best but to visit the church with its splendid William Morris window and the tallest village church tower in Dorset.
